You’ve probably caught a KATSEYE track on the radio or scrolled past a TikTok set to “Gnarly” (2025), “Touch” (2024), or “Gabriela” (2025) without even realizing it. Since their June 2024 debut, the group has dropped two EPs: SIS (Soft Is Strong) and Beautiful Chaos, that weave through K-pop influences, pure pop hooks, a little grunge edge, and smooth R&B. Essentially, their sound is as wide-ranging as the six artists who make it.

KATSEYE came together on The Debut: Dream Academy, a HYBE and Geffen Records project that started with more than 120,000 global applicants and whittled its way to six members through twelve weeks of training and audience votes. The whole journey, from auditions to final lineup to full formation, unfolds in the Netflix docuseries Popstar Academy: KATSEYE.

Now, meet the global girl group behind those viral hits—each member bringing her own flavor to the mix.

DANIELA

Daniela Avanzini, born in Atlanta, Georgia began her career as a professional dancer. Of Venezuelan and Cuban-American heritage, this Cancer was a top-10 finalist in season 13 of the dance competition series So You Think You Can Dance. At only 21-years-old, her dancing clips and funny viral TV moments have been circling the internet since Daniela was 11-years-old.

SOPHIA

Sophia Elizabeth G. Laforteza, deemed leader of the global girl group by k-pop fans, was born in Queens, New York. Always repping her Filipina-American heritage, Capricorn Sophia also speaks Tagalog. At 21-years-old, her favorite place to be has always been the stage.

MANON

Meet Meret Manon Bannerman, born in Zürich, Switzerland. Of Swiss, Italian, and Ghanaian descent, 23-year-old Manon has been writing songs since she was five years old. A multifaceted Cancer who plays piano and models for photography, her name is pronounced with the last “n” silent.

YOONCHAE

Yoonchae Jeung (정윤채) is the youngest of the group at just 17-years-old. This Sagitarrius was born in Korea and proudly represents her South Korean heritage. Before joining KATSEYE, she passed the auditions for CJ Entertainment & Media (CJ E&M) in 2020 and was a trainee there for 2 years.

MEGAN

Megan Meiyok Skiendiel, born in Honolulu, Hawaii, is of Chinese and Swedish descent. Outside of being part of a global girl group, this 19-year-old Aquarius is also a runway and fashion model who has appeared in both Paris and L.A. Fashion Week for high-fashion couture.

LARA

Lara Rajagopalan, who was born in Los Angeles, California, not only sings and dances in KATSEYE but also produces music. She proudly represents her Indian (Tamilnadu) and Sri Lankan heritage, and at just 19-years-old, this Scorpio was featured in the video for Michelle Obama’s Global Girls Alliance campaign.

KATSEYE hasn’t slowed down for a second, and the girls have been busy (as they should)—from starring in a fresh GAP jean campaign (videoed above) to gearing up for their first big solo run, Beautiful Chaos Tour. With tour stops across North America and Mexico already sparking buzz, it’s clear KATSEYE is just getting started.
